Employment and Educational Success

Computers in the Outreach Office are made available to the public to address employment, education and community-oriented matters. Employment workshops are also provided, in order to support resume building and interview skills. The goal is to assist individuals with employment, based on the philosophy that they will be less likely to engage in “crimes of opportunity” or theft related criminal offenses if they are gainfully employed. Based on a similar philosophy related to education, we also host programs such as the Educational Opportunity Council to share information on their GED and vocational programs. We also provide tutoring services to adults for GED and BOCES test preparation.

In the fall of 2011 our office provided backpacks and school supplies to hundreds of children across the county.  Each backpack also contained a Safe Child ID Kit.
