  Gerard Burks Pleads Guilty to Albany Homicide 





ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that GERARD BURKS, 39, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-1 Felony, before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin in Albany County Supreme Court this morning.

On November 5, 2016, in the area of 101 South Pearl Street in the City of Albany, BURKS intentionally caused the death of a person that was not known to him, 63 year old Lori Milks. Ms. Milks succumbed to her injuries on November 12, 2016.  

BURKS faces up to 19 years to Life in State Prison when sentenced on July 13, 2017.

Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Mastaitis and General Felony Unit Bureau Chief Steven Sharp prosecuted this case.
