Guilty Plea for Attempted Burglary






ALBANY, NY – ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that MICHAEL ROZELL, 37, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court.

On October 21, 2016, at approximately 10:52 AM, ROZELL attempted to break into a residence on Paxwood Road, in the Town of Bethlehem, County of Albany, by throwing a brick through a window of the residence. ROZELL ran away from the residence when the home’s security alarm sounded.

In a separate incident on the same day, ROZELL broke a window of another residence, climbed in and stole valuables. A witness observed the break-in and called the police. When police arrived, they saw ROZELL outside of the residence. ROZELL was apprehended by police and the stolen items were recovered.

ROZELL faces 6 years in State Prison when sentenced on September 12, 2017.

Assistant District Attorney Linda Griggs of the Financial Crimes Unit prosecuted this case.
