Attempted Burglary

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that MICHAEL ROZELL, 37, of Delmar, NY, was sentenced to 6 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post Release Supervision, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this afternoon.

On August 1, 2017, ROZELL pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony.

On October 21, 2016, at approximately 10:52 AM, ROZELL attempted to break into a residence on Paxwood Road, in the Town of Bethlehem, County of Albany, by throwing a brick through a window of the residence. ROZELL ran away from the residence when the home’s security alarm sounded.

In a separate incident on the same day, ROZELL broke a window of another residence, climbed in and stole valuables. A witness observed the break-in and called the police. When police arrived, they saw ROZELL outside of the residence. ROZELL was apprehended by police and the stolen items were recovered.
