Four Time Felony Drunk Driver Pleads Guilty

ALBANY, NY- District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that DOMINGO GONZALEZ, 59, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Driving While Intoxicated, a Class D Felony, before the Honorable Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court this morning.

On November 19, 2017, at approximately 11:07 P.M., officers from the Albany Police Department observed GONZALEZ operating a 2006 Kia Sedona on Washington Avenue in the City of Albany with only one functional head lamp. During a traffic stop it was uncovered that the vehicle did not have valid inspection and that GONZALEZ’s driver’s license was revoked from a previous DWI conviction. GONZALEZ displayed physical signs of intoxication, failed multiple field sobriety tests, and later registered a .21 percent on a breath analysis test.

This is GONZALEZ’s fourth felony Driving While Intoxicated conviction in New York State.

GONZALEZ faces 1 ½ to 4 ½ years in State Prison when sentenced on May 3, 2018.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Shanley of the Vehicular Crimes Unit prosecuted this case.
