 Loaded Illegal Weapon Leads to

10 Year Prison Sentence

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that LARRY FAULKNER, 31, of Kingston, was sentenced to 10 years in State Prison to be followed by 5 years of Post- Release Supervision, before the Honorable William A. Carter yesterday.

On April 18, 2018, FAULKNER pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony.

On March 3, 2018, in the area of Lynn and Village Park Drives in the Town of Colonie, FAULKNER led officers of the Colonie Police Department on a high speed chase during a traffic stop. An officer then located FAULKNER’S vehicle after it crashed into a tree with his blood spread throughout the interior, as well as both air bags deployed. The vehicle was swabbed for DNA and processed. Officers later located FAULKNER inside of another vehicle, injured and with a loaded .45 caliber handgun next to him. FAULKNER admitted the gun belonged to him.

In 2013, FAULKNER was previously convicted of (1) Count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, a Class D felony and sentenced to 3 years in State Prison.
