  Albany Resident Sentenced for 

Misdemeanor DWI


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JASON SANABRIA, 30, of Albany, was sentenced to 3 years of Probation, before the Honorable John Reilly in Albany City Court this morning.

Additionally, SANABRIA will be subject to the installation of an Ignition Interlock Device for the duration of his Probation, attendance at a Victim Impact Panel, completion of the Impaired Driver Program, and a total of $1,934 in fines and surcharges.

On January 18, 2019, SANABRIA was found guilty after a jury trial of (1) Count of Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor, (1) Count of Driving While Ability Impaired, a Misdemeanor, (1) Count of Drinking Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle on Highway, a Traffic Infraction, (1) Count of Motor Vehicle Violation: Failure to Notify Address Change, a Traffic Infraction, (1) Count of Failure to Notify DMV of Address Change, a Traffic Infraction, and (1) Count of License Plate Missing/Displayed Improperly, a Traffic Infraction.

A jury found that on November 8, 2017, at approximately 12:19 AM, at Exit 24 on Interstate 87 and Interstate 90 in the City of Albany, a traffic stop conducted by the New York State Police discovered SANABRIA was driving in an intoxicated state. During the traffic stop, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage and later found a bottle of vodka inside of the vehicle. SANABRIA failed standardized field sobriety tests and was apprehended at the scene. A breath sample revealed SANABRIA had a blood alcohol content of .08%.
