  Guilty Plea in Albany Stabbing Case


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that NORMAN DESNOYERS, 38, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Violent Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning. 

On May 20, 2019, at approximately 10:00 P.M. at 4 South Allen Street in City of Albany, DESNOYERS caused serious physical injury to the victim by slashing them in the neck with a razor blade. 

DESNOYERS has one prior violent felony conviction for Arson in 2001. 

DESNOYERS faces up to 5 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years Post Release Supervision, when sentenced on July 25, 2019. 

Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato of the Major Offense Unit prosecuted this case.
