Sentenced in Online Child Pornography Case


  



ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that THOMAS BRUNSCHMID, 36, of Johnsonville, was sentenced to 5 years in State Prison, to be followed by 10 years of Post-Release Supervision, before Judge Peter A. Lynch in Albany County Court this morning. BRUNSCHMID will also be mandated to register as a Sex Offender.

BRUNSCHMID previously pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child as a Sexually Motivated Felony, a Class D Felony.

An investigation led by the Colonie Police Department uncovered that between November 2017 and July 2018, BRUNSCHMID procured and shared multiple digital photographs of performances of children in sexual situations. The resolution of this count fully covers and satisfies all charges stemming from that investigation.

At the time of this investigation and arrest BRUNSCHMID was employed as a helicopter pilot in the Army National Guard.
