   Sentencing in Albany Residential 

Break-In and Shooting Case

 


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that QUINTIN BROWN, 44, of Troy, was sentenced to 18 ½ years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable Thomas A. Breslin in Albany County Supreme Court this morning.

BROWN previously pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Burglary in the First Degree, a Class B Violent Felony.

On January 26, 2019, at approximately 9:30 A.M., at a residence on Yardboro in the City of Albany, BROWN did unlawfully enter the residence of a female acquaintance. While unlawfully inside the residence, BROWN fired multiple rounds from a firearm and caused physical injury to a victim by striking him in the head with the weapon.

Assistant District Attorneys Caroline Murray and Matthew Schrantz of the Special Victims Unit handled the prosecution of this case.
