 Guilty Plea in May Shooting Case



  

 

ALBANY, NY -  District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that JOSE CEPEDA-SOLIS, 23, of Troy, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this morning for his role in a shooting in the City of Albany on May 22nd.


On May 22, 2020, after 9:00 P.M., CEPEDA-SOLIS fired a gun near the intersection of Madison Avenue and Lark Street in the City of Albany, ultimately striking a male victim. The parties had just been involved in an automobile crash and were engaged in an argument. The victim was treated and survived the incident.


CEPEDA-SOLIS faces 8 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision, when sentenced on October 23, 2020.


Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato is handling the prosecution of this case.
