In addition, an indictment was unsealed and CIARA HOOKS, 26, of Albany, was arraigned for her alleged role in the crime.

An Albany County Grand Jury previously returned an indictment alleging that on June 24, 2020, at approximately 11:50 P.M., while in the area of 142 Second Avenue in the City of Albany, EDMUNDS intentionally caused the death of 23-year-old Eddie Richardson by means of shooting him in the chest. Additionally, when he was apprehended on August 11, 2020, at approximately 2:30 P.M., EDMUNDS was allegedly found to be in illegal possession of a .380 caliber pistol that was in his sweatshirt pocket. EDMUNDS pleaded not guilty today and was remanded into custody by the Court.

The Grand Jury also returned charges against CIARA HOOKS, alleging that she rendered aid and criminal assistance to EDMUNDS after the murder of Mr. Richardson. An indictment was unsealed today alleging HOOKS committed (1) Count of Criminal Facilitation in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, and (1) Count of Hindering Prosecution in the First Degree, a Class D Felony. HOOKS was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to the charges. She was released on her own recognizance by the Court today.
