ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that RAEKWON ELLIS, 25, of Troy was arraigned on (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-1 Felony, before the Honorable William A. Carter in Albany County Court this afternoon.
An indictment was unsealed today alleging that on October 18, 2019, at approximately 7:30 P.M., while in the area of First Street and Lexington Avenue in the City of Albany, ELLIS intentionally caused the death of 26-year-old Raheem Douglas by means of shooting him.
ELLIS pleaded not guilty today and was remanded into custody by the Court.
No new appearance dates have been scheduled at this time.
