Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Christopher D. Horn

David Rossi Chief ADAChristopher D. Horn is currently the Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney with the Albany County District Attorney's Office. Horn graduated from Union College in Schenectady in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English.  He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Cardozo Law School in Manhattan in 1993.  After having interned with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office from 1991 thru 1994, Mr. Horn was hired as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Bureau upon his admission to the New York State Bar in January of 1994.  In 2001, Mr. Horn was promoted to Chief of the Appeals Bureau.  In 2005, Mr. Horn was named Bureau Chief of the newly formed Legal Affairs Bureau.  In 2007, in addition to his role as Bureau Chief, Mr. Horn was asked to serve as Special Counsel to the District Attorney. 

In addition to managing the operation of the Legal Affairs Bureau and advising the District Attorney on policy and legal matters, Mr. Horn currently represents the office at meetings of the Legislative and Appellate Subcommittees of the New York District Attorneys Association.  Mr. Horn has also served on the New York Prosecutors Training Institute’s (N.Y.P.T.I.) advisory panel for development of a statewide Prosecutor’s Case Management System (P.C.M.S.).  As part of their In-Service Training programs, Mr. Horn provides training for the Albany Police Department and other local police agencies.  For many years, Mr. Horn has actively participated in the Legal Lives program, in which members of the office teach 5th and 6th graders about the criminal justice system and help them to make responsible life decisions. 

In early 2015 Christopher Horn was awarded with the Robert Morgenthau Award from the District Attorney's Association of New York State.
