  Sentencing in Albany Shooting Case that

 Permanently Injured Victim


ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that DAYZHON CLARK, 20, of Troy, was sentenced to 12 years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court this afternoon.

On June 13, 2019, CLARK pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Assault in the First Degree, a Class B Armed Violent Felony. 

On July 8, 2018, at approximately 2:00 A.M. in the area of 330 Orange Street in the City of Albany, CLARK caused serious physical injury to a victim by shooting him with a pistol. The victim survived the incident but has lost the use of one of his hands. 

Assistant District Attorney Michael Shanley of the Major Offenses Unit prosecuted this case.
