 Guilty Verdict in Ravena Cocaine

Possession Case

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ERIC JONES, 39, of Ravena, was found guilty after a jury trial of (2) Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, each Class B Felonies, and (2) Counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, each Class A Misdemeanors, before the Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court yesterday afternoon.

After thorough deliberation and review of the evidence presented during the trial, the jury found that on the early morning hours of February 25, 2019, members of the New York State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement team executed a search warrant at a residence on Mountain Road in the Village of Ravena. The search uncovered JONES to be in constructive possession of approximately 82 grams of cocaine, numerous digital scales, and a cocaine press.

JONES faces up to 15 years in State Prison when sentenced on August 23, 2019.

Assistant District Attorney Alexander Scher of the Street Crimes Unit is handling the prosecution of this case.
