Fact: If you are a victim of crime, you have the right to be notified of your rights.

Fact: Crime victims have the right to be protected from threats, physical injury, or other kinds of intimidation.

Fact: Crime victims have the right to submit a victim impact statement.

Fact: If you are a victim of crime and you have incurred out of pocket expenses, you may be entitled to compensation or restitution.

Fact 1: Every day in America, 29 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes. That’s one person every 50 minutes.

Fact 2: It’s not just impairment by drugs or alcohol that reduces reaction time behind the wheel. A study found that distracted drivers can experience a 35% decline in reaction time.

Fact 3: Under New York State Law, you can be fined up to $200 for your first offense using a cell phone while you drive.

Fact 1: Dating violence can be: Physical (Hitting, slapping, and kicking), Emotional, Verbal, Sexual, Financial (Taking your money), and Digital (sending threats through text, stalking on social media, and forcing you to share passwords).

Fact 2: Nearly 20.9% of female high school students and 13.4 % of male high school students report being physically or sexually abused by a dating partner. 

Fact 3: Only 33% of teenage dating abuse victims ever told anyone about it.
