Guilty Plea in Fatal Sheridan Avenue Stabbing Case

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that VINCENT ELLIS, 24, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class B Felony, before the Honorable Richard McNally in Albany County Court this morning.

On March 9, 2021, at approximately 12:07 p.m., in the area of the 100 block of Sheridan Avenue in the City of Albany, ELLIS stabbed 28 year old Brian Jenkins during a physical altercation. Jenkins later died as a result of his injuries. Members of the Albany Police Department were able to locate and arrest ELLIS at the scene of the incident.

ELLIS faces (16) years in State Prison, to be followed by (5) years of Post-Release Supervision, when sentenced on August 9, 2021.

Major Offense Unit Bureau Chief Shannon Corbitt is prosecuting this case.
