Cases in Albany County Court

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that NATALIE FERRARA, 24, of Schenectady, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Vehicular Assault in the First Degree, a Class D Felony, before the Honorable Roger D. McDonough in Albany County Court this morning.

On October 22, 2020, at approximately 1:10 A.M., FERRARA was driving while intoxicated on Van Woert Street in the City of Albany, when she crashed her car into a parked vehicle. The crash caused serious physical injury to FERRARA’s passenger, which required multiple surgeries and resulted in lasting impairment. Blood test results revealed that FERRARA was operating the vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .23 percent.

FERRARA faces 1 2/3 to 5 years in State Prison, when sentenced on August 27, 2021.

In an unrelated case, JOSEPH SERVIDONE, 50, of Castleton, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Driving While Intoxicated, as a Class E Felony, before the Honorable Richard McNally in Albany County Court this morning.

On October 15, 2020, at approximately 8:53 P.M., law enforcement received reports of a person driving erratically in the northbound lane of I-87 in the Town of Colonie. When a New York State Trooper arrived to the location, they found SERVIDONE behind the wheel of a disabled vehicle in the center lane of the highway. SERVIDONE appeared intoxicated and could not complete field side sobriety testing due to his level of intoxication.

SERVIDONE faces 1 to 3 years in State Prison, when sentenced on September 30, 2021.

Assistant District Attorney Collin D’Arcy is handling the prosecution of these cases.
