Sentencing in Fatal Sheridan Avenue Stabbing Case

ALBANY, NY - ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that VINCENT ELLIS, 24, of Albany, was sentenced to (16) years in State Prison, to be followed by (5) years of Post-Release Supervision, before the Honorable Richard McNally in Albany County Court this afternoon. On June 10, 2021, ELLIS pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class B Felony.

On March 9, 2021, at approximately 12:07 p.m., in the area of the 100 block of Sheridan Avenue in the City of Albany, ELLIS stabbed 28 year old Brian Jenkins during a physical altercation. Jenkins later died as a result of his injuries. Members of the Albany Police Department were able to locate and arrest ELLIS at the scene of the incident.

Major Offense Unit Bureau Chief Shannon Corbitt prosecuted this case.
