Guilty Plea in Central Avenue Stabbing Case

ALBANY, NY - District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that ARNIQUE ROWLETT, 33, of Albany, pleaded guilty to (1) Count of Assault in the Second Degree, A Class D Violent Felony, before the Honorable Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court today for stabbing a man in May, 2019.

On May 9, 2019, at approximately 1:16 P.M., while in the area of 129 Central Avenue in the City of Albany, ROWLETT became engaged in a verbal argument with a man on the street who was a stranger to her. ROWLETT slashed the man on the wrist with a knife that was in her possession. The victim sustained injury wounds which required medical treatment.

Due to her history of related offenses and the nature of the crime, ROWLETT faces up to (5) years in State Prison, to be followed by 5 years of Post-Release Supervision, when sentenced on October 28, 2021.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato is handing the prosecution of this case.
