Third Man Arraigned in Fatal 


Colonie Robbery Case




ALBANY, NY –District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that KENNETH SPENCER, 45, of Schenectady, was arraigned this morning in Albany County Court for his role in a fatal shooting robbery that occurred outside of the Motel 6 in the Town of Colonie on May 11, 2021.

SPENCER was arraigned on (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony, before the Honorable Andra Ackerman today. A previously returned indictment was unsealed alleging that in the area of 2700 Curry Road, in the Town of Colonie, SPENCER caused the death of 21 year old Xiaa Price during the commission of an attempted robbery.


SPENCER pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded.

Alleged co-defendant DESIRIQUE JOHNSON, 22, also of Schenectady, was previously arraigned after on July 9, 2021, for his involvement in the same offense. A Grand Jury indictment was returned alleging (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony. JOHNSON also has pleaded not guilty to the alleged charges and remains in custody.

A third man from Schenectady, PAUL STREEKS, 24, was also previously indicted and subsequently arraigned on July 9, 2021. The Grand Jury returned charges of (1) Count of Murder in the First Degree, a Class A-I Felony, (2) Counts of Murder in the Second Degree, each Class A Felonies, and (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Felony, against STREEKS for his alleged role in the attempted robbery and murder. STREEKS pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded.

The investigation of this homicide was led by detectives in the Colonie Police Department.

Assistant District Attorney Michael Wetmore and Assistant District Attorney Collin D’Arcy are handling the prosecution of this case.
