Murder Indictment Unsealed 

in Albany County Court

ALBANY, NY – District Attorney P. David Soares announced today that SHIMAIR PERRIN, 29, of Albany, was arraigned before the Honorable Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court today for his alleged role in a July 2021 murder in the City of Albany.

An Albany County Grand Jury previously returned a sealed indictment alleging PERRIN committed (1) Count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class A-I Felony, and (1) Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class C Armed Violent Felony.

The indictment alleges that on July 23, 2021, at approximately 1:00 A.M., PERRIN did intentionally cause the death of 34-year-old Lamon Lanier of Albany by means of shooting him with a gun while in the area of Willett Street and Hudson Avenue.

PERRIN pleaded not guilty to the charges today and was remanded in to custody after arraignment.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato of the Major Offense Unit and Assistant District Attorney Michael Wetmore is handling the prosecution of this case.
