Arraignment for Shots Fired in Albany

The indictment alleges that on or about February 13, 2024, in the area of Robin and Orange Streets in the City of Albany, Blair attempted to both injure and cause the death of another person, with the use of a deadly weapon.

Albany, NY – 24-year-old Donta Blair of Albany pleaded Not Guilty to One Count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, One Count of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, One Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Three Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, One Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and one Count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, before the Hon. Roger McDonough in Albany County Supreme Court.


The indictment alleges that on or about February 13, 2024, in the area of Robin and Orange Streets in the City of Albany, Blair attempted to both injure and cause the death of another person, with the use of a deadly weapon. The defendant is also accused of having an illegal firearm on the same date, and at the same location.


Additionally, on or about the same date (February 13, 2024), Blair allegedly possessed a defaced shotgun, as well as a quantity of cocaine at an address on Clinton Avenue in the City of Albany, with the intent to sell it.


Blair was remanded to the Albany County Jail following his arraignment, and will next appear in court on May 3, 2024 at 11 a.m.


Assistant District Attorney Stephen Lydon is handling the prosecution of this case.
