Sentencing for Burglary Spree

The locations in question included the Hope House on Madison Avenue, Ragonese Italian Imports on New Scotland Avenue, St. Catherine’s Center on New Scotland Avenue, and a dormitory for college students with special needs on South Main Avenue.

38-year-old Abdalon Bruno of Albany was sentenced to 10 years in State Prison before the Hon. Roger McDonough in Albany County Court this morning. Today’s sentencing follows his December 19, 2023 plea of guilty to One Count of Burglary in the Second Degree, in full satisfaction of a 7-count indictment.


The original indictment, handed up on November 3, 2023, alleged that between May 12, 2022, and May 19, 2022, Bruno burglarized, or attempted to burglarize a number of buildings in the City of Albany. Those locations included the Hope House on Madison Avenue, Ragonese Italian Imports on New Scotland Avenue, St. Catherine’s Center on New Scotland Avenue, and a dormitory for college students with special needs on South Main Avenue.


Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato, the Chief of the Major Crimes Bureau, handled the prosecution of this case.


All parties are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
