Repeat Package Thief Pleads Guilty

According to a Superior Court Information, Jones unlawfully entered 363 Ontario Street in the City of Albany on April 17, 2024 with the intent to commit a crime. He was accused of doing the same thing on April 23, 2024, at 760 Broadway in the City of Albany.

Albany, NY – 55-year-old Kerith Jones of Albany pleaded guilty to two counts of Burglary in the Third Degree before the Hon. William Little in Albany County Court yesterday morning. That plea also satisfies 8 uncharged burglaries.


According to a Superior Court Information, Jones unlawfully entered 363 Ontario Street in the City of Albany on April 17, 2024 with the intent to commit a crime. He was accused of doing the same thing on April 23, 2024, at 760 Broadway in the City of Albany.


More specifically, Jones repeatedly stole packages from various buildings in the City of Albany.


Sentencing is scheduled for September 5, 2024. Jones faces an indeterminate term of 5 to 10 years in prison when sentenced.


Assistant District Attorney Joseph Brucato, the Bureau Chief of the Major Crimes Unit, is handling the prosecution of this case.


All parties are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
