Guilty Plea for Vehicular Homicide

As a part of his plea, Ebron admitted to causing the death of Kyreem Softleigh by causing a vehicular crash while intoxicated by alcohol.

Albany, NY – 37-year-old Caezare Ebron of Albany pleaded guilty to Aggravated Vehicular Homicide prior to the start of a scheduled trial, before the Hon. Andra Ackerman in Albany County Court this morning.


As a part of his plea, Ebron admitted to causing the death of Kyreem Softleigh by causing a vehicular crash while intoxicated by alcohol. Additionally, Ebron left the scene of the incident without reporting it.


Sentencing is scheduled for September 6. Ebron faces an indeterminate term of 12.5 to 25 years in State Prison. That sentence will run consecutive to his sentence in an unrelated matter.


Assistant District Attorney Collin D’Arcy, the Bureau Chief of the Vehicular Crimes Unit, and Assistant District Attorney Marissa Olsen, are handling the prosecution of this case.
